这位是出生在纽约市也住在纽约的高中生,2007年获选2008年秋进入在美国费城附近的一间大学.

Ester Lee was born and raised in New York. She grew up taking care ofher younger brother while her parents worked to provide for theirchildren. She is very active within her community and her church. Sheis a choir member, a youth group officer and set up a tutoring programfor underprivileged children in the neighborhood. She is also veryinterested in directing and is the local leader for the church dramateam. Ester manages to balance these activities along with her familyresponsibilities which entail taking care for her younger sibling. Sheunderstands the importance of an education and is grateful for theopportunity to attend Swarthmore College

她的名字叫余肖瑜(译音),现住纽约布碌伦,她是2001年九月移民来美,当时她一句英文也不懂,她知道她唯一是结识朋友,做一个乐干主义者.她记得当她小学毕业时,她的老师在她毕业年册上写上\"有辛勤的努力将会有辛勤的回報“.她也是靠这句话,和自己的努力,获得Wesleyan University, 大学四年免费,2009年秋季生.

Xiaoyu is an immigrant who came to the United States in September of2001. Although she did not know any English at the time, she knew shestill had one tool to make friends – an optimistic attitude. When shegraduated from elementary school, her teacher wrote in her yearbook: \"Apositive attitude will always lead to positive rewards.\" Wherever shehas gone from then on, she always keeps a positive attitude and thewillingness to help (and learn from) others. 政府和大学的助学金是根据学生的家庭收入提供的. 因此贫穷家庭的学生能免费上昂贵的私立学校, 而中产阶级或中上阶级的学生有困难支付名校的学费

多谢亚1的赞词.
能获得四年免费读大学的确省下许多钱.这个机构的26间大学平均年费用为5万元左右,四年下来也是20万美元.这对我们贫下中农是个天文数字了.在美国做工赚到的钱要缴所得税,一般税率在二十几到三十,也就是说赚十元线就去了三元钱的所得税,余下七元钱买用品等要交零售税,在纽约应该是7%点多零售税.(食物原料不用税,但成品食物要纳税.)其实到手的钱不多.想全凭手上的钱来付学,那就惨了.在美国,许多中国人为了谋生赚钱养家而很少注意孩子的学习,而且现社会的年轻人也看不起从大陆来的父母,认为父母不懂英文,思想落后,形成父母和子女不能朝一个共同目标走.能让孩子读好书,拿到助学金,这也是条财路.因为助学金和奖学金是免税的.
