Big Paul,

I am not trying to be a bad boy! This statue from Macau is a symbol of good luck. If you look closely at her knee and the top of the dog's head, you will see that the color is different. That is where everyone rubs the statue so that she will give them good fortune. So, that is why I was touching her a lot!

Big Paul,

Of course I know you're joking with me! I know that you would not purposely tease your little brother! I really enjoy this kind of playful talk with you!

DHK,

Wishing you the best, on the 19 years spent at the Four Seas Restaurant. All of sudden, it seems I have a lot to relate to you on that. Let me capture it as much as I can...

* Like you, I worked at the restaurant at Boston, as a bus boy, and later a waiter in a Chinese Restaurant at Boston when first arrived to America. I did not like the work atmosphere. I felt, I was a smart young man, and determined to do something better. I rememember the Chinese restaurant owner, he was a very rich oldman, in a Jewish neighborhood. He liked me a lot at first, he even tried to introduced one of his grand daughter for me to date. Not me then, I had a life-long goals to fulfilled, and an unchartered journey ahead. This oldman/restaurant owner died ten years later, in 1992 of pancreatic cancer. I knew this much about him: 1) He came to American empty handed, like you and me. 2) He never went back to visit China, Taipeing, his hometown. 3) He worked 7-days a week, and made a lots of money, and raised a big family. 4) His hobby was, after the busy, restaurant rush hours, he retreated to the basement, and watched hard-core xxx-*** movies. 5) He was a proud man. He proved that he was capable, like everyone else... In summary, I have a deep respect for him, even though I did not like him very much (everything about him at work was to squeeze/maximize the profit that he could make). Looking back, it may be as simple as that, we choose a different pathes in life. Who is to say which one is right, or which one is wrong? In the end, we will be all dead...

* 20 years in Austin, Texas. Yes, that is my post-Boston story. I still don't have a wife. I had a house, and I sold it. I came away with the notion, be careful what you possessed, it may possessed you. Like everyone else, I am just working, never know 3-monthes from now, if I will still collect the same pay checks. On the gratifying sides, I have being to many roads less traveled in the American West, and meeting with people from all walks of life with similar outlook...just as you seen in many of my outing postings... There is no right or wrong to all of this...

* Ahhh, the naked statues, we are all mature enough to handle that. What the heck, a posting by DHK, with so many visitors, without beautiful female nake bodies, it is like, a dragon, without its eyes. It just complements the DHK posting...uhhhh...the beautiful girls in the distant past...don't just say, let forget about about them...

Hi John,

Just like your old boss, I also work 7 days a week, and really don't get a chance to go anywhere. Like everyone else, we all hope to make enough money to take care of our families and allow them to have everything we didn't when we were younger. As you say, who knows if its right or wrong.

I hope next time you can write all this in Chinese so everyone can hear your stories! Also, if you keep writing in English, I will not get so many visitors to my postings anymore!
