I was there in mid August four years ago. The average day time temperature of the desert is above 110 degree. I dared not to step out of the car. Regardless of the oppressive heat, there are some positive aspects in the desert. As the evening approached, the wind started to blow and the cool wind was extremely comfortable and so gratifying. The gratification was so great; it was as though someone had fed my soul. Perhaps many of you may have seen the sunset from the ocean or the mountains, but can you imagine how wonderful the sunset is on the desert? It shocked me to see the huge burning ball radiating fully into the earth. I could not distinguish the sun from the sand. It was as though they were as one. I wanted that moment to be frozen in time, but the sun vanished into thin air… Moreover that night was as calm as the ffice:smarttags\" />Pacific Ocean. I really enjoyed the solitude on the desert. The stars were so bright and close that they appeared to be within reach. It’s incredible to see so many stars on the sky.
